Introduction
In this video, we describe how to install Lightning Forms in SharePoint 2019 or SharePoint Subscription Edition so that you can begin to modify Modern SharePoint List Forms to bring business logic and improved modern responsive layouts to your modern SharePoint lists.
NOTE: Lightning Forms should be added as an app to the site by the site owner. Keep in mind that a user logged in as Farm Admin / System Account cannot install an app.

In this video, we'll examine how to install Lightning Forms in SharePoint 2019 [or SharePoint SE].
What you'll download from our website is the installation files; what we're looking for here is the SharePoint Server folder which will include Lightning Forms. The current version is [now] 3.7.0.0.
In the folder, you're going to find a folder path called LF for Lightning Forms, and there's also some deploy PowerShell script, and LT Deploy, which is an application to install the LF subfolder into Site Assets. And we've also got the SPFx package here called [now] LightningForms-spfx-command-actions.sppkg.
The first thing that you'll need to do is ensure that you're not logged on as the Farm Administrator.
We're going to right click onto LTDeploy, and Run that as the administrator.
You'll select the target web Web Application and hit Deploy.
Performing that routine is going to go through and copy the LF folder into your Site Assets in the root site collection. You'll be able to check that that has occurred.
Once that has occurred, switch across to your App Catalog, which usually you'll find under SP2019/sites/appcatalog. If you haven't yet provisioned your app catalog, then here is a link to the Microsoft documentation on how to create and establish the App Catalog: Install and manage apps for SharePoint Server - SharePoint Server | Microsoft Learn. So we're going to go into Apps for SharePoint, and all you'll need to do here is drag, again, as a non Farm Administrator, the LightningForms-spfx-command-actions.sppkg file into your App Catalog.
Once that has deployed you should see that the package has deployed with zero errors and it is listed as being deployed.
The next thing you can do is use it. So we are going to navigate to a newly created site and in order to use Lightning Forms within your site, you first of all need to add the app. So you can click on the cog icon, choose Add an App, select From your organisation. We can then select Lightning Forms, and the app will then deploy to your site.
Once it appears in full color, it will have been deployed.
Now you'll be able to use Lightning Forms inside your SharePoint lists and libraries. So if we go through and create a new custom list, we can go into our custom list and in there (on the Command Bar), we will see the Lightning Forms button.
